FaCE: a tool for three body Faddeev calculations with core excitation
FaCE is a self contained programme, with namelist input, that solves the three body Faddeev equations. It enables the inclusion of excitation of one of the three bodies, whilst the other two remain inert. It is particularly useful for obtaining the binding energies and bound state structure compositions of light exotic nuclei treated as three-body systems, given the three effective two body int...
متن کاملThree-Nucleon Electroweak Capture Reactions
Recent advances in the study of the p−d radiative and μ−3He weak capture processes are presented and discussed. The three-nucleon bound and scattering states are obtained using the correlated-hyperspherical-harmonics method, with realistic Hamiltonians consisting of the Argonne v14 or Argonne v18 two-nucleon and Tucson-Melbourne or Urbana IX three-nucleon interactions. The electromagnetic and w...
متن کاملSpin observables in three-body direct nuclear reactions
Direct nuclear reactions ~ d+A and ~ p+(An) are described in the framework of three-body Faddeev-type equations. Differential cross section and analyzing powers are calculated using several optical potential models and compared with the experimental data. Quite satisfactory agreement is found except for few systematic discrepancies.
متن کاملCore excitation in halo nucleus breakup
We estimate the magnitudes of core excited state cross sections, following halo nucleus dissociation on a light target. Calculations of integrated partial cross sections for the Be(Be,Beγ) reaction at 60 MeV/nucleon are presented and some sensitivities to inputs discussed. Reasonable agreement is obtained with preliminary experimental estimates for this system. Paper presented at: Nuclear Struc...
متن کاملThree-body halos. III. Effects of finite core spin.
We investigate effects of finite core-spin in two-neutron halos in the three-body model consisting of two neutrons and a core. The states in the neutron-core subsystem can then have an additional splitting due to the coupling of the neutron and core spins. The connection between the structure of the total system and the states of the neutron-core subsystem depends strongly on this spin splittin...
